Cincinnati Home Care Assistance invites you to join industry experts at the final installment of a three-part series where you can learn more about how Alzheimer’s affects a senior’s ability to communicate and strategies so you and your senior loved one can better understand each other.
When: May 9 from 11am to 1pm
Where: The Kenwood by Senior Star
RSVP: Email [email protected]
Know Before You Go: Lunch will be provided
In the first and second parts of this series we covered the various stages of cognitive decline and how to cope with specific behavioral changes. For the third part, we plan to focus on an important aspect of everyday life: communication. Seniors with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive decline often repeat familiar words, have trouble organizing words in a logical order, create new words to talk about common objects, easily lose train of thought, speak less often, or even revert to his or her native language.
Although you can’t prevent your loved one’s ability to communicate from declining, you can prepare yourself and your other family members for these changes. During part three of this series, join leading senior care experts who will discuss how to “speak” Alzheimer’s and improve communication with your loved one.
